Introducing the Brand New Podcast: Small Business Sit-Down

We are excited to announce our brand new podcast that we’ve been working on in the background: Small Business Sit-down! Each week we’ll sit down with a new business owner for a nice chat about their business. We’ll dive deep into their backstory, what got them into the industry, and expectations they have about the future and their business.

About Small Business Sit-down

Our goal with this podcast is to explore local businesses and get to know the owner. We want to increase awareness of these businesses while providing our audience with entertaining content.

Jeff Fox will be hosting the show each week, with the occasional guest appearances from the rest of our team.

The first episode of Small Business Sit-down: Jim Ellis from the Film Hub!

For our first episode, we sat down with Jim Ellis from The Film Hub, a long-time producer with over 35 years of experience in the film industry. Jim has extensive experience working on award-winning productions that range from TV commercials to feature films, with one of his most recent projects being “Refuge from the Storm”, a full-length, faith-based feature film released in 2015.

Jim noticed that San Diego lacked the key tools and resources necessary for a creative to produce and develop quality content. Key equipment and services such as sound stages and vfx studios were lacking in the area, and many people were forced to do work in Los Angeles.

Together with his daughter, Lauren Fehlhaber, and his business partner Elias Acosta, Jim set out to create a media hub where creatives could get together and create productions for both films and TV. It would also double as a coworking space, allowing smaller creatives and business professionals to collaborate and bounce ideas off of each other.

This film coworking space became known as The Film Hub, which first opened its doors back in November of 2019. The Film Hub has everything a creative could possibly need, such as a sound stage, a podcast room, a control room/editing suite, office spaces, meeting rooms, and so much more.

If you’re ever in the area, be sure to drop by and check out the Film Hub, located in downtown Vista Village, at 170 Eucalyptus Ave. You can also visit their site at https://inspiredimagesstudios.com/ to learn more!
